How to Setup Linksys Velop Mesh System?

Linksys WiFi Velop device is one of the mesh system which provides three networking devices. one will connect to the home network and other will connect with the parent node of the Velop. So, now let’s start the Linksys Velop setup from here;

Linksys Velop Setup Using Computer

The first step to start the Linksys Velop setup with computer or laptop is connecting the computer to the Velop Network.

Reach Login Page of Linksys

1. You must open an updated web browser in your computer or laptop.
2. Then, you have to enter URL linksyssmartwifi.com or 192.168.1.1 IP address or http://192.168.1.1 in address bar and search.
3. You will reach to the Linksys admin interface login page.

Access Linksys Velop Interface

1. On this login page of the Linksys Velop interface you have to enter username and password.
2. The admin login credentials will be found in the user manual or the label of the device.
3. Just type in the credentials and click on the Log In button.
4. After setting up the router node, you have to connect other nodes and set them up as well.

If you have a Linksys router which you want to connect the Velop with then make sure that it is configured using the URL myrouter.local.

Linksys Setup Using Linksys App

the users of the Linksys networking devices use the Linksys app to setup the Linksys router, extender, or mesh system. The Linksys setup also similar to complete;

Download Linksys app

• If you have Apple iPhone then you have to use the App Store to Get the application.
• If you have an Android Smartphone then you have to use the Play Store to Install the Linksys app.

Configure Linksys App

• To configure the device, you just have access the Linksys app in your phone.
• In the app, you have to enter the login Email address and password.
• If you don’t have the admin credentials, then you have to Sign Up to log in to the app.
• Enter the Email address, Name and create password and create new account of Linksys app.
• Now, you can access the interface and connect other Velop nodes with after setting up the parent node.

You can also do the same task with the help of your computer if the app is not responding, stuck on connecting to the node, stuck on finding modem etc.

In that case, you should reboot the device and if it is not responding then simply reset it.

Reboot Velop Node

The most trusting fix for the mentioned problem is rebooting the WiFi device with the help of below given instructions;

1. The first way to reboot the device is plug out the power cord of the hub and plugs it in to the electric wall socket.
2. The second way to restart the Velop is pressing the power button twice given on the router device front.

Reset Linksys Velop

By resetting the WiFi device you will lose all the data and adjusted settings you have made. Take a look how to reset the Linksys Velop device;

1. Find the RESET button on the back of the router.
2. It will be a RESET pinhole button, which is pressed by a pin or a sharp object.
3. Just given it a long press and release the button.
4. The reset process will start.

After resetting the router device, you have to access the Linksys Velop login interface using the IP address 192.168.1.1.
